Eureka Moments

Eureka Moments
Eureka moments, also known as "technology boosts", provide an immediate and significant boost towards your research of a technology. These boosts will be earned as you play the game naturally, and your actions will determine what sort of Eureka moments you encounter. For example, settling a city on the coast will boost your progress towards Sailing and creating a Pasture will boost your progress towards Horseback Riding. The Technology Tree lists boosts associated with each technology, but you may gain them from other sources (such as Great People, Research Agreements, or team shared research).
