Zweihander

Description
+7 Combat Strength vs. anti-cavalry units.
Historical Context
The 'Zweihänder' (also known as the 'Beidhänder') is a type of two-handed longsword, common during the 16th Century AD and much favored by the German and Swiss Landsknechte. Eventually, so deadly were they against spear and pike-armed units that the Swiss outlawed them, although the Germans kept on until muskets became common. Heavy, long and double-edged, the Zweihänder could chop through spears and pikes with relative ease, and had the reach to do so before the swordsman could be impaled … such as at the battle of Fornovo in 1495. Hardly honorable, but quite effective.
